We had another rough day today. The blood culture came back positive for coag negative staphylococcus. It's a bacteria that's found in the normal bacteria of your skin, however once it gets in the bloodstream it causes infection. Even though they can't know for sure how she got infected, they suspect that the picc line they put in the other day was where the bacteria entered her bloodstream so they removed that line. Tomorrow they will be doing a spinal tap on her to make sure that the infection hasn't got into her spinal fluid. If it has, then they will have to treat her for a longer amount of time.
She wasn't peeing today and her kidney levels were elevated which is common with infection. They decided to give her a saline bonus to try and force her kidneys to work, we hope that helps!
They've had to take quite a lot of blood from her for cultures and labs so the doctor discussed with us the possibility of a blood transfusion. We're hoping that doesn't have to happen but I guess we'll see.
Klay and Miles gave her a blessing today. We're trying to let faith overcome our fears and trust in God's plan, but it is so hard to not know what the future holds for us.. We are so blessed to be Isabelle's parents and we hope with all of our hearts that we get to be with her for a long, happy life
