They say that Izzy has been doing awesome on this vent! Her CO2 has been at pretty good levels and her oxygen has stayed in the low 30's, sometimes 20's. They give her caffeine to stimulate her lungs to breath more on their own and that has made her heart rate a little higher than usual. They might lower the dose, but hopefully her heart rate just slows down on its own cause we want the caffeine to work its magic!!
They took another blood culture last night when they had to put in a new IV. Primary children's just wanted to make sure that there isn't anymore bacteria in her blood. They will most likely do another one (and possibly more if any of these come back positive again) but we're praying no more come back positive and she has to get stuck as little as possible!
