They did one last blood culture last night to test for any residual infection. Hopefully no more blood cultures! They are no fun for any of us. Because she's had to get a few more cultures recently her hemoglobin levels have gone down again. When we got to the NICU today they had started another blood transfusion to get that back up to where it should be.
We were sad to see that they put her back on the oscillating ventilator. We thought she was doing so good! But the doctors are smart and they definitely know what's best for her. She had been going through some bradycardia and her CO2 levels got pretty high so that's why they decided to switch her back to the oscillator.
The propranolol that they've been giving her for her heart makes her super sleepy. I've noticed today that she's not as wiggly as she's been the past week or two. It seems to be working well for her heart, she hasn't had any crazy tachycardia since yesterday so that is great news!
Today she weighed 2lbs. 6oz. She has almost gained a pound! She's still eating 18ml of mom's milk at each feeding and she hasn't had any stomach/digestion problems lately which we are SO SO SO grateful for.
Klay likes to say, "Another day, another 10,000 dollars" when we walk out of the NICU lol what a goon. When we were saying goodbye to Izzy today Klay started talking to her and she kept blinking her eyes trying to look at him. I'm sure she recognizes his voice and loves her daddy.
