Izzy has been having a lot of what they call ABD's. Apnea (when she quits breathing) Bradycardia (when her heart rate drops) and Desaturations (when her oxygen saturation drops), and all of those happen at the same time. It's really pretty scary when it happens, she gets purple/grey and they usually have to rub her back and her head to make her come back up on her stats. However, it's fairly normal for premature babies to do. With most babies they just give them more caffeine and it decreases the frequency and severity of them, but they're really hesitant to give her any more caffeine because of her WPW. They say that she'll eventually grow out of it, but the ABD's are what will most likely keep us here the longest. If she has an ABD, she has to stay in the NICU for at least 5-7 days longer...AND if we take her home and she has one then she has to come back to the NICU. We've had a lot of doctors and nurses tell us that babies will get really close to coming home and they'll have an episode and have to stay longer, we're not excited for that! The past couple nights when I've been holding her she's had a few ABD's and we've had to put her back early. We're hoping she grows out of it quickly so she can come home as soon as possible!
She got a bath tonight so she's nice and clean and has fuzzy hair. She's starting to go blonde! We expected that because both Klay and I were blonde when we were little. We've noticed that recently it's looking a lot lighter.
